The Turner Insurance Agency was started in 1962 by Robert Turner, father
of Steve and Tom Turner. Steve Turner joined the business following
graduation from Stetson University in 1973. Tom Turner joined the firm
in 1975. Several other local insurance agencies were purchased and
incorporated into the Turner Agency through the years, including the
Little Insurance Agency in 1975, the Ranson Agency in 1979 and the Spink
Agency in 1985. After nearly 40 years at the corner of Prairie and
Lafayette, the business was moved to a new building at 1715 West Morton
in January, 2000.
